This club is a

“Lean and Mean”

Organization ready to

“Serve Above Self”

The Rotary Club of San Jose Del Monte was born on October 20, 1982. Under the tutelage of the Rotary Club of Sta. Maria, which belongs to the District 380. The creation of the Club was the great effort of President Ricardo Nicolas of Rotary Club of Sta. Maria consisting of 27 Charter Members and literally the club is the “son” of Rotary Club Sta. Maria.

The first meeting place of the Club under the leadership of the Charter President Chris Garcia, a two-termer president, is in the clubhouse of the Cattle Creek and Golf and Country Club. Eventually the meeting place changed its venue around the city. According to Samuel “Teddy” Española, he was the youngest Rotarian inducted then at 22 years old. The Club have actively participated in the District events and it has produced 2 District Governors.

October 20 is a very significant date to our club. This is the birthdate of our club that coincides with the significant event in history in 1944, wherein Gen. Douglas MacArthur “returned” to emancipate the country from the bondage of foreign invasion. True to the words of Gen. Douglas MacArthur “I Shall Return” through thick and thin, worst and good days, always return back to life, as an active Rotary Club ready to serve, Above Self. In its 42 years of existence in the Rotary World, it has produced 57 Paul Harris Fellows, 18 Multiple Paul Harris Fellow and 2 Benefactors.
